The Time Has Come to Use Gutenberg
Gutenberg is a new block-oriented editor that was introduced with WordPress 5.0. The members of the Social Media Support Committee (SMSC) of Sons of Norway District Six were initially of the opinion that Gutenberg was too unstable for most lodge webmasters to use. After a couple of years of use, the SMSC members now are satisfied that Gutenberg is stable and suitable for other webmasters. The SMSC now encourages webmasters to switch to Gutenberg.
Gutenberg is a block-oriented editor. Your page is broken down into individual blocks. We recommend that each paragraph be its own block. If you have a block with several paragraphs, we suggest that you break it up into blocks of individual paragraphs so that you have an easier time maintaining them. You can create a new block by moving your curser around in the area where you want to add a block and looking for a plus sign (+) to pop up. You click on the plus sign to create a new block. By clicking inside the block, you can get a toolbar menu to control the block. One of the symbols is ^ and v paired one above the other. By clicking on them, you can move your block up or down. Your block can be a heading, a paragraph, custom html, an image, or any number of other things.
To switch from the Classic Editor to Gutenberg, click on Options at the top right corner of the page you are editing (Options symbol is 3 dots vertically arranged) and look down to the “PLUGINS” section of the pop-up. WordPress has a screenshot showing how to switch to the Classic Editor. If you are using the Classic Editor, you may be able to use a similar procedure to switch to Gutenberg.
